The Jehovah's Witness --- prophets or fanatics?
by Sophia Barkat

The Jehovah's Witness has long been preaching the "End of the World": Here's an article printed in Newsweek/December 18, 1995, written by Kenneth L. Woodward:

The link below shows how the Jehovah's Witness organization also predicted that the end of the world would come in 1914, 1915, 1918, 1925 and 1942. Years coinciding with the World Wars.

It says:

The Third Millennium is just four years away, and you'd think that Jehovah's Witnesses would be ecstatic. Ever since the movement's inception in the 1870's, the Witnesses have insisted that the world as we know it is about to end. According to their unique Biblical calculations, the countdown to Armageddon commenced in 1914 - the First World War was a major sign - and Christ would establish his millennial kingdom on earth "before the generation who saw the events of 1914 passes away." For countless Witnesses, this prediction was good reason not to save money, start a career or make burial plans. As one of their leaders famously preached in 1918: "Millions now living will never die."

Due to this infatuation with Armageddon the Free Minds Inc. watches over the Jehovah's Witness organization. http://www.freeminds.org/

Among many things the Free Minds claims that the Watchtower Bible Society, main front for Jehovah's Witness, is not only preaching end of the world but also involved in facilitating the end. The Watchtower apparently also feels threatened by the UN, which it calls the King of the North. Reminds one of the various level of "in-fighting" between religious groups over history.

Watchtower Bible Society, the head of the Jehovah's Witness, now owns shares in a weapon's manufacturing company called RandCAM: http://www.randytv.com/randcam.htm

". Accordingly, in Notes (3) and (4) above, beneficial ownership of the 5,073,200 shares registered in the name of Rand Energy Group Inc. has been attributed to The Watchtower Society and Mr. McCann."

Here's more on the Watchtower Bible Society's investment in the weapons business:  http://www.geocities.com/wtgreed/article.htm

Here's something said about followers of the faith: http://www.dannyhaszard.com/psychopaths.htm

In his "Adams versus God," Melbourne broadcaster Phillip Adams said in 1985 that, according to US studies, "Jehovah's Witnesses are more likely to be admitted to psychiatric hospitals than the general population".

"According to an article in the British Journal of Psychiatry," he said, "they are three times more likely to be diagnosed as suffering from schizophrenia and four times more likely to be paranoid schizophrenics.

"As a writer in the American journal Free Inquiry puts it: 'Either the Jehovah's Witness sect tends to attract an excess of pre-psychotic individuals who may then break down, or else being a Jehovah's Witness is itself a stress that may precipitate psychosis.

"'Possibly both of these factors operate together ..."
