South Asia
American Empire Shaping In South Asia

by Javed Zaheer

TORONTO: It was in 1857, if I am not wrong, the foundation for independence was laid in Meerut in the Indian Sub-Continent. The Muslims revolted when forced to use the rifles fitted with pig’s substances. Since then a non-stoppable joint struggle by Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and others was waged against the brutal and oppressive colonial rule.  Millions of people sacrificed their lives, near and dear ones and everything.

The colonial vampires were expert in the art of cunning and conspiracies. Traitors were their main tools and there was no dearth. As signs of colonialism’s collapse started to appear, conspiracies were hatched. Like the game of relay, the baton was passed on to another emerging power--- imperialism.

During the World War Two, the United States of America proclaimed itself the champion of peace by tearing millions of people into pieces---The first nation on earth to use atomic power for mass destruction and massacre of the innocent people. Hiroshima and Nagasaki still remind us of the horrors. Nobody has dared thereafter as America considers it its right to use this power as it wished.

When the struggle for independence reached its peak, the colonial and imperialist powers focused on protection of their vested and vital interests. After the World War Two, the communist bloc posed a grave threat to their interests. In Asia, the communist bloc and allies were very powerful. USSR, China, India, Afghanistan, North Korea were some examples. So partition of the Sub-Continent became very significant and gained much importance, particularly for the colonial and imperialist powers.

Because the brutal colonial rule had landed the West and Whites in hot waters and people were not prepared to accept them in imperialism or any other form, Islam and Muslim factor was considered the best and most effective alternative and option in Asia. So the partition and creation of Pakistan as an Islamic state was considered essential to counter communism as India was very much close to Russia, China and Afghanistan.

The Islam factor powered the Muslim struggle. Pakistan was bound to be created at any cost. On August 14, 1947, this Muslim state came into existence. The price was very high as hundreds of thousands of lives were lost and millions were rendered homeless, battered, tattered and shattered. Almost every Muslim immigrant family was affected and divided, which was one of the greatest tragedy and trauma of history.

This was part of the conspiracy against Muslims and to punish them for being too patriotic, emotional and sentimental. It was also meant to keep them weak, disturbed, helpless, dependent and under control. That was why Muslims suffered the most. Even today the affect could be felt and would remain so until some positive, realistic, sensible and practical decisions are made to bring them closer and create an environment of love and peace.

Pakistan was created in the name of Islam but only lip service was done to keep the people happy. The Islam factor was used only for promotion and protection of the vested interests. Whatever was done for Islam was by the people because of their love for Islam.

The imperialist policy of `Use and Abuse’ was used very effectively. First the charismatic and patriotic leaders were removed from the scene, very cleverly and cunningly. In 1948, the Founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, passed away. The knowledgeable circle still believes that it was not a natural death. Mystery surrounds his passing away.

In 1952, Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated. He was not toeing the powers policies, showed them his famous fist, getting closer to the bloc in Asia and was considered `Present and clear danger’ to the vested interests. He was also assigned the RIP (Rest In Peace) status.

From 1958 to 1969, Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan ruled the country. Tremendous progress was witnessed with the help of Uncle Sam, who opened the bag of `Dollars’. Investments kept pouring in to make Pakistan stable and strong. In his period, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, sister of Founder of Pakistan, who was contesting the elections and most favoured to win, was silenced permanently. Her win would have been in no way in the interest of the vested interests. She was also listed as one of the obstacles.

Her `permanent removal’ shook the power of Ayub Khan, as people started to doubt his sincerity, challenge his rule and policies. Ayub Khan wrote his famous book `Friends Not Masters’, which was meant to save his rule and expose Uncle Sam and the allies. So he too was humiliated and removed from power in 1969.

General Yahya Khan took power in 1969. He was a good soldier but his weakness of wine and women made him an easy trap of the conspiracies. In 1971, we lost East Pakistan, which shaped into Bangladesh. The creation of this new state too was not all of a sudden but a part of conspiracies. It was connected to the Islam and Muslim factor.

God forbid if Pakistan was harmed then there was another place for the powers to control the region and protect and promote their interests. India had to help in creation of this state to save its Bengal. There was no choice left. There was and is still talk of Greater Bengal. Bengalis are one people and would never like to be left divided. Sooner or later there would be reunification. This is what the political pundits say.

From 1971-1977, the era of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto began. He was in Paris and the army generals dare not capture power. A special plane was sent to bring him back and hand him the power. Who was behind all this? I think anybody can guess. In the 1971 war, Pakistan’s situation was very precarious. India was snarling at the border, impatient to grab the remaining part of Pakistan. The US Seventh Fleet was in position in the Indian Ocean and a clear and direct `Hands Off’ warning to India to stay away from Pakistan and American interests. The Pakistan Army, which is one of the finest in the world, was left moaning, groaning and badly humiliated with over 90,000 prisoners of war. Thanks to the `Traitors and Corrupt Generals’.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto became the first Civilian Martial Law Administrator. Dozens of army generals were prematurely retired and sent home. On the other hand, late Gen. A. K. Niazi, who was in command in East Pakistan, who was called the Lion of Punjab, and who declared that India could only capture East Pakistan over his dead body, was rendered helpless and finally surrendered to Gen. Arora. When he came back he became a hero and addressed numerous political gatherings. He enjoyed freedom and recently passed away at the age of 89.

Prime Minister Z. A. Bhutto in the last days of his power declared America as a White Elephant. The result: In 1977 he was ousted from power, had to face murder charges and was hanged to death. Perhaps, he knew too much and not ready to remain silent. He too had a vision and dream about making Pakistan strong. This was not welcomed and, therefore, he too was assigned the RIP status. During his period the nuclear program was accelerated.

From 1977 President Gen. Ziaul Haq took charge. The invasion of Afghanistan by the USSR and plans to overrun Pakistan as well in order to spread its rule up to the Indian Ocean endangered the vested interests of US and its allies. Now was the time to use the Islam and Muslim factor. And it was used effectively. The Russians had to flee in panic and with great losses.

The whole Islamic world was charged with a new spirit of unity. President Gen. Ziaul Haq proved a good soldier and a leader for the Muslim World. He started to implement his vision of a strong and united Muslim World. His eyes were set on Central Asia. Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asia on one side. Iran, Turkey, Middle East on the other side. What a strong bloc it would have been.

In the modern era, Gen. Ziaul Haq was the only Muslim General and leader who enjoyed tremendous respect and confidence of the Muslims worldwide. He was able to gather under the flag of Islam Mujahideen or fighters from every nook and corner of the world. They were committed and ready to sacrifice their lives and everything. This was a great achievement. The world was surprised to see the charismatic qualities of this fearless soldier and brilliant leader. His martyrdom was a great loss for the Muslim World. The disgruntled and corrupt elements never understood him and kept cursing. But even till today nobody has been able to prove that he was corrupt. Such was the character of this brave son of Pakistan. Most of his critics themselves proved incompetent and corrupt.

Because of Gen. Ziaul Haq’s qualities and achievements, the CIA and American policy makers considered him `Very Dangerous’ and `Present and clear danger’.  So they allegedly eliminated him from the scene. He died with his trusted generals in a plane blast. The US Ambassador in Pakistan and a US Army General were also killed. It was cleverly master minded.

Anybody who dreams of making Pakistan or any other Muslim country a Fortress of Islam, the Muslim World a power and becomes an obstacle in the way of the world powers is always considered dangerous and removed from the path.

To cut short the very long story, anybody who thinks Pakistan is in danger is badly mistaken. In order to protect the vested interests and check the axis of India-China-Russia, the United States had to rush there. Afghanistan was the most appropriate place. It connects South Asia with Central Asia and Russia. In economic terms, the US was eyeing Central Asia due the huge oil reserves. Now it has control over them. It has also allegedly established military bases.

Pakistan’s location is very strategic and has assumed great importance. It has hot waters---Karachi, Gwadar and Pasni ports. Karachi is Gateway to the East. The US Navy is in great strength in the Indian Ocean. It is not only patrolling the region but protecting its vital interests as well including Karachi.

Pakistan has a long border with India. Two wars were fought---in 1965 and 1971. Now the US is directly posing as a shield for Pakistan---accept it or not. Because of its practical presence in the area it wants to ensure peace, prosperity and stability in the region. It has signaled the warning: No more fighting in the area or you can say any attempt to disturb or obstruct the US interests.

Even the over 50-year-old issue of Kashmir is about to be solved and very soon. Before that nobody, even the United Nations, was taking any interest in this issue, which led to two horrible wars. Now there is no tension on the border. Suddenly the bitter enemies have become old and best friends. Everybody is talking about peace and stability. This is all due to the American Magic Wand. People of both India and Pakistan feel relieved now. They always desired peace in the region at any cost. They are fed up of the tension and enmity. The corrupt and cunning leaders of both the countries never wanted peace and stability, which was not in their interest. And they never cared for the people.

America needs Kashmir as badly as Karachi. There it can establish its bases and monitor the region from the top. China, Russia and India all would be in its range. Amongst the three, India is most vulnerable. It can easily be broken into pieces. Moreover there is a Plan to divide the South Asian region into small pieces on the pattern of Middle East. Bangladesh was part of the plan. According to reliable sources, the test proved successful with many others to follow including Kashmir, Khalistan, Nagaland and Mohajiristan. The small satellite states could be easily and effectively monitored and controlled. In this way they would remain dependent on their masters and prosper as well.

The Middle East, Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya are all in the pocket. The Middle East was one of the easiest. Most of the powerful and corrupt Arabs worship the `Dollar and Whites’. They are mostly fond of wealth, women and wine. At the airports if you show the American, Canadian or European passports or documents they get so much excited and impressed that they give you a VIP treatment. They fall at your feet. On the other hand, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis or Muslims belonging to the Third World are treated like beggars, slaves or pests.

So the people think that such corrupt Arabs deserve the punishment or the treatment they are getting now. Their masters are kicking their butts. The unfortunate part is that the innocent and common Arabs too are being treated shabbily because of them.

Now the `Domination and Invasion Wave’ has entered into a crucial and difficult phase. Asia is not an easy meal. There are many heavyweights---China, Russia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia to name a few. Important economic hubs are Hong Kong and Singapore.  Like I said before, India is the most vulnerable because of its population, politics and policies.. India is playing its entire cards to ensure survival and maintain its power position. It is developing close ties with Russia, China and US and allies including Pakistan.  Recently it signed a $1.6 billion deal for a frigate with Russia plus transfer of technology and economic agreements.

China and India used to be very good friends. The border disputes and 1962 war made them bitter enemies. Now they are again developing very close understanding with agreements to work closer in almost every field including defense. Israel too has agreed, after a pat and green signal from the United States, like always, to give over $1 billion sophisticated radar system to India.

America is trying to attract India and will probably succeed with the world behind it. Under the present circumstances, India will be left with no choice except to succumb to US pressure. Pakistan and India’s friendship move is a recent example. Look how Libya has fallen at US feet. How North Korea is opening itself and how Iran agreed for inspection of its nuclear program.

India’s dream of Akhand Bharat will not be fulfilled now. No chances at all. Forget about it. The United States is now planning `American Empire’ in South Asia. It is dreaming of World Domination. Economically it has achieved the task. The World Bank, United Nations and almost all other world bodies follow Uncle Sam’s orders in one way or the other.

After South Asia it plans to move ahead. One after the other many heads is expected to roll. One senior Pakistani official, when asked to comment, said: “The United States is very powerful and non-stoppable at present. Only after one or two generations something may or can happen. Till then the world, particularly the Third World, is helpless.”

When India became a nuclear power its attitude suddenly changed towards Pakistan and became very aggressive. How could America tolerate this misbalance of power and see its interests endangered. Pakistan lost no opportunity and showed India  and rest of the world that it was also capable of becoming a nuclear power. That was necessary to check India’s nefarious designs and to stop it from bullying its neighbours.

Although the CIA says it worked hard and daringly to expose the nuclear proliferation, but the fact is that it was the United States of America, led by the CIA, which was behind Pakistan’s nuclear program. They know each and everything about the program and have no choice but to protect it in their interest.

Nothing could possibly be hidden from the US and this everybody knows. They have the sophisticated technology and intelligence network. Pakistan’s nuclear program was necessary in the larger and national interest. With China, Russia and India loaded with nuclear arsenals and sophisticated technology and all part of a bloc posing threat to the US and allies’ vested interests it was essential to set the balance and make Pakistan an atomic power and a powerful base.

Although the go-ahead signal was given by the US, but the Pakistanis did a highly commendable job and all the brilliant brains were put to use. They surprised the world by keeping it secret and secure. Now Pakistan is in a position to sit on the bargaining table and play its cards freely. It gave a relief to America as well and to concentrate on other issues. The Muslim World too proudly raised their heads and started recognizing Pakistan as their leader and defender because of the `Islamic Bomb’.

Militarily, Pakistan has made significant progress and is exporting many latest arsenals of best quality. Pakistan has no military aims and poses threat to no one. The nuclear technology is also for peaceful purposes and for its defense. So there is no need to fear or worry. Pakistanis are friendly, cooperative and hard working people. A survey of the world would reveal this.

The anti-Pakistan lobby is deadly against Pakistan’s nuclear program. No opportunity is lost to harm Pakistan and get it declared as a `Rogue State’. They want roll back of the nuclear program. But this will only misbalance power in the region and pose a grave threat to the world peace. It will never be allowed as it is not in the interest of the world.

Recently a new development took place. Under pressure of the United Nations, Pakistan’s nuclear scientists were questioned for transfer of technology to states like North Korea, Iran and Libya.  The Father of Pakistan’s Nuclear Technology, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, confessed and apologized for such transfer. He said it was only for peaceful purpose and done in the national interest. President of Pakistan Gen. Pervez Musharraf accepted his apology and pardoned him and said “He is a Hero of Pakistan”. So no harm done.

To become a hero is not an easy job. It requires a lot of sacrifices, efforts and contributions. It is our duty to respect, support and protect them. Where heroes are not respected, supported and protected, the people and countries are doomed forever. It is not easy to forgive and forget, it is not easy to confess and apologize and it is not easy to pardon despite knowing the mistake. These are characteristics of great people and heroes. Everybody commits small or grave mistakes unintentionally.

This development, however, is very significant for Pakistan and the world. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s confession has netted the trio: North Korea, Iran and Libya. They cannot escape or deny the facts now. Every screw, nut and bolt would be checked to determine the state of their nuclear level. If they resist, they know their fate. The example of Iraq is before them. The world could do nothing to stop the occupation of Iraq. The basis for the invasion was Weapons of Mass Destruction but till now not even a trace has been found.

Now America is circling Iran and indications are clear that Iran would be the next target. Libya has already extended hand of friendship and ready to dance naked in front of the Americans. North Korea is also softening due to economic crisis and succumbing to US and international pressures. Still it is not easy to pounce on it like on Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a nuclear state and not an easy target. When back to the wall or losing they can go to any extent. The Americans know this very well and that’s why they are banking on the economic crisis and waiting to see the North Koreans crumble.

It seems America was behind Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s confession. Bush cashed this `engineered opportunity’ and has vowed to check nuclear proliferation and punish the culprits. With this declaration, America can rope any nation, involve and punish it.

Pakistan’s position too is now delicate. President Gen. Pervez Musharraf keeps telling the people to let him remain in power. But the people, particularly the Mullahs, fail to understand this very important and sensitive policy statement.  If Musharraf is toppled or removed and the next government refuses to act as an ally, then Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s confession could be used against Pakistan and it could be declared a rogue state and punished. The CIA is expert in covert and overt operations. `Yes Sir Opinion’ of the world and international media’s filthy and venomous propaganda could be used to bring all sorts of charges and proofs against Pakistan.

Pakistan’s religious parties have always launched campaigns in the name of Islam against various governments and toppled them. But where is the Islam they promised? They only acted as puppets of the conspirators. While they prospered and became stronger, the people suffered badly and were crushed due to poverty and exploitation.

The people must understand the delicate and sensitive situation. If they want to see Pakistan stronger and `Really Independent’, they must bring the right leadership forward and fully support them. They must totally reject the corrupt elements and replace the corrupt and defective system.

Since 1947 the corrupt and loyalist lobby has caused more harm to Pakistan then anyone else. We must learn to accept reality and accountability and prepare to give any amount of sacrifices and face all hardships in order to achieve progress, prosperity, peace and stability. But this is not an easy task. People have been deliberately and badly involved in corruption. Lives of most of the population have been made miserable. Frustration remained at the peak.

Musharraf’s government is trying its best to improve the situation and condition of the people. But everything is very messy and cannot be corrected overnight. And till the system and rule is in the hands of corrupt elements (Mainly corrupt army officers---right from the rank of Lieutenant to Generals---and feudal lobby including political, social, religious leaders, bureaucrats, businessmen to name a few out of a very long list) nothing can be done in the interest of Pakistan.

They are the ones trying to remove President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and land Pakistan in deep trouble. They want leaders of their choice like Gen. Yahya Khan and Late Gen. A. K. Niazi to rule and lead the country. They are the ones who have eliminated and humiliated our heroes. They are the real and committed enemies of Pakistan. Yet they are roaming and ruining freely. Guess who is behind them?

These crooks and traitors have brought bad name to Pakistan and harmed the reputation of Pakistanis. They are the ones responsible for labeling Pakistanis as extremists, fundamentalists and terrorists.  This is all a part of their conspiracy and plan. They understand only one thing--- Please the masters, exploit and ruin the people and keep tight hold on the country by hook or by crook.

They never allowed Pakistan and India to come closer and enjoy friendly ties. Pakistan and India must understand this and avail the latest opportunity in improvement of relations. This is in the best and larger interest of the South Asia region. People to people level contact must be established and improved. Already people of both the countries have suffered tremendously. Meaningless enmity is stupidity of the highest order. The genuine problems should be solved with real understanding. Neighbours must learn to love each other and live together peacefully. This is definitely in our interest. Don’t let the fools, crooks and traitors destroy our nations and people.

Traitors, terrorists, extremists, subversive, anti-social and anti-state elements are found in every community, society and part of the world. Then why only blame Pakistan and the Muslim World?  The reason is easily understood. In the fight against USSR and communism, the Muslim World was accepted as an ally and used in the frontal position. Now the Western World faces the Muslim World. They know the power of the Muslim World and consider it as a threat to their policies and plans of `World Domination’. So the option chosen was to defame and crush them.

Muslims consider Israel as their worst enemy and America as their friend but they must understand that American policy makers (mind it not the loving and peaceful people) can do anything to protect Israel including even destruction of the world and mass killing of the people. This is not an assumption but has been proven time and again.

Economically and systematically Israel is dominating America, Europe and rest of the Western world. Well, everybody knows this and that is why hatred against Israel, America and those influenced is increasing worldwide.

Hatred is destroying the peace of the people worldwide. Policies promoting hatred must be rejected and replaced with those promoting love and peace. Whether Israelis, Americans, Asians, Westerners, Blacks or Whites, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus and others all must be allowed to live and breathe freely. People do love each other and live peacefully but it is the corrupt and cunning policy makers who are leading the world towards destruction. They are only interested in their vested interests.

We must remain deadly against those creating and promoting hatred and committed to support those struggling for peace and love. All we can do is hope and keep trying and this must be our objective at any level---individual, collective, community, society or country. Craze for power and world domination is part of international politics and would remain so till doomsday. Our duty and responsibility is to promote and support the right and not might, justice not exploitation and peace not destruction. Their success is based on our judgment, confidence and support and this we must never forget.
